When TAA began this journey of reflection on the state of the Architectural landscape, we never expected to get stories of heartache, of hardship, of harking of a time gone by.
The Golden age when Fee Notes were settled on time and Fees were honoured without grand inquisitions. Through this one year journey, we have laughed, presented Memoranda, Debated with M.P’s and Policymakers, grieved with persons affected by collapsed buildings. We have asked for revocation of the Physical and Land Use Planning Act and revision of the Architects and … Quantity Surveyors Act CAP 525. We have held Podcasts, Webinars on Tax, The state of Architecture and remonstrated on various Social issues under “The Lift”. All this was done with the assistance of unbelievably able and dedicated Architects who put their hearts and minds on the line for a challenge that will change how we all view this profession we love.
Crown Paints Kenya have long been our silent supporters through this journey. Today, we formalized our engagement and signed an M.o.U to guide our partnership. This partnership will guide our Mentorship Programme with students from all 5 universities training future Architects, It will give impetus to a programme to train Practicing Architects on new trends and engage the public to showcase what a better society can look like when we all play our roles. At the signing ceremony were Tom Oyier and members of the Crown team, Sen. Sylvia Kasanga and Members of T.A.A Exco as well as Architecture Students.
We extend our thanks to Crown Paints for believing in us and participating in this partnership. Looking forward to a wonderful 2025.
